Tecnel was founded in 1977 as a result of the founder’s electrical instrumentation experience gained in the Montedison Group’s petrochemical and pharmaceutical facilities. The company’s main objective is to provide clients with comprehensive assistance right from the design phase and throughout the production cycle.
Since the 1980s, Tecnel’s naval experience has been reinforced through participation in the construction of gas tankers, supply vessels, and standard and fast ferries – and since 1995 the megayacht sector as well, working with the most illustrious Italian shipyards.
The company’s offshore activities began in 1986 with the system on the “Vega” oil platform. Tecnel’s work here is characterised by special attention to quality control, a factor that was later decisive in the company gaining RINA certification.
This has been and remains Tecnel’s main business sector from the company’s founding until today, developed through collaboration with major national and international companies.
